Pull list for May 27 2015

May 24, 2015

I work Wednesday, but I’ll try to get reviews up anyway.

I’ll go to the store for: Secret Wars 2099 #1, by Peter David and Will Sliney; Uncanny Avengers Ultron Forever, by Al Ewing and Alan Davis.

I’ll also review: All-New Hawkeye #3, by Jeff Lemire and Ramon Perez; Inferno #1, by Dennis Hopeless and Javi Garron; MODOK Assassin #1, by Chris Yost and Amilcar Pinna; Old Man Logan #1, by Brian Bendis and Andrea Sorrentino; Secret Wars Journal #1, by Prudence Shen, Ramon Bachs, Michael Rosenberg and Luca Pizzari.

So that’s only 2 comics I’m picking up, and 7 reviews. I’m not going to review the Infinity Gauntlet or Inhumans titles, because I don’t feel like it. I’ll also be picking up a WicDiv t-shirt, the Lucifer Died For Our Sins t-shirt. For fun. Because that series is amazing.

I’m most excited for . . . well, uh, I only have two titles, so I’m excited for both. The Ultron Forever minis have been great so far. Ewing and Davis are doing excellent work, and I’m excited to see where it goes. And Secret Wars 2099 looks exciting. I love Peter David as a writer, and while my only 2099 experience is Spider-Man 2099 (both the original and the recent series), it’s still a cool setting. Also, I like the muscular female Captain America 2099.

There’s an old SNES RPG I enjoy, EarthBound. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a delightful game, very silly and cheerful and fun, until you reach the final boss and things get downright terrifying. Great game. I found a My Little Pony mod. So of course I’ve been playing it. It’s great. Obviously, most of the characters sprites are changed to look like ponies. But a lot of the dialogue’s been changed, and even the story’s been changed a bit here and there. It’s an impressive amount of work, and it’s really cool. I’ve been enjoying my playthrough of it. I’m not very far into it so far, but it’s great.

Speaking of MLP, the current season has been really good so far.

I have a job interview on Tuesday! It’s for a job with Sudbury Public Library. It’ll be a Skype interview. I hope I get the job. I want to work in a public library. That’s my goal. So this interview is great.

My schedule this week is: 7-11pm Wednesday, 10:30-7 Friday, 11-7:30 Saturday, 6:30-10:30 Sunday, 11-4:30 Monday. So in addition to posts tomorrow and Tuesday, I’ll have posts Thursday and next Tuesday. And possibly Sunday, we’ll see.

I have basically nothing to talk about this week. Bleh.
